"Some journeys take us far from home. Some adventures lead us to our destiny" - CS Lewis
During my stay in Belfast, Northern Ireland, I was invited to be a special guest at the Belfast Wardrobe Art Jam.An A one-day celebration of urban arts featuring local and international street mural artists working live in the square to transform a carefully selected group of ‘previously loved’ wardrobes, as well as permanent walls in the surrounding area with urban sports and dance displays music from local DJ collective throughout the day. Devised and produces by Eastside Partnership and Seed Head Arts.
The space is dedicated to Belfast born and breed Author CS Lewis best known for his series, The Chronicles of Narnia. CS Lewis Square is located at the intersection of the Connswater and Comber Greenways, beside the EastSide Visitor Centre, where visitors can access information on the city's attractions from interactive screens, interpretative panels and a wall map, connecting people to EastSide's famous faces, places and industries.
So for this I wanted to create san artwork that told this story but also added some bright and fresh character to the streetside for the surrounding community. Using the two lion heads to give the appearance of wings from when someone stands directly in between. A message of courage, to spread your wings and take a leap of faith.
Using a mix of Montana Aerosol Spray Cans and Ironlak Pump Action Pens to carefully create my work over a 4 hours., head to this location and get your next insta photo.
